The right of IDPs to living assistance is periodically checked based on information about their financial and property status. According to Government Decree No. 332, payments may be discontinued due to purchases or deposits exceeding 100 thousand UAH, a vehicle not older than five years, housing in a safe region, or prolonged stay abroad for more than 30 consecutive days or 60 days in total. If there is disagreement, the recipient can submit supporting documents to the Pension Fund or the Center for Self-Service.

The rules for determining and extending assistance to internally displaced persons are defined by the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 332 from March 20 2022 year. To verify the right to further payments, the Ministry of Social Policy transfers data to the Ministry of Finance, which conducts verification, and the results of this verification are sent to the State Pension Fund of Ukraine. During the verification, information about property, financial transactions, bank accounts, residence outside of Ukraine, and other data is taken into account, so the status of an internally displaced person does not guarantee continuous receipt of funds.

Among the reasons why assistance may not be extended are the purchase of a vehicle with a production date less than five years ago; mopeds and trailers are an exception. Purchases totaling more than 100 thousand hryvnias, including land plots, apartments, houses, and other real estate, as well as securities and other financial instruments, are also taken into account. Payments may be suspended if the total amount on deposit accounts exceeds 100 thousand hryvnias; one-time state payments up to this amount are not taken into account. A separate basis is the purchase of foreign currency or bank metals in cash or by check for an amount exceeding 100 thousand hryvnias.

The right to assistance is also lost by internally displaced persons (IDPs) who own residential property outside of the official list of combat zones or areas under temporary occupation, and by individuals under full state support, including those in correctional facilities. Payments can be suspended if the recipient has been abroad for more than 30 consecutive calendar days or a total of more than 60 days during the period of receiving assistance.

If, as a result of verification, any discrepancies are found that do not meet the requirements, the authorized person must inform the recipient of the reason for refusing to extend the payment, to the extent that the technical capabilities allow. The recipient who disagrees with the decision may provide documents to confirm their right – to the Pension Fund or the administrator of the local social services center, in person, by mail, or electronically. If the issue is an error in personal data, bank account number, or the recipient's category, the Pension Fund may correct this information.
