The head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius, expressed his belief that the ideology of the "Russian world" is a form of genocide. He emphasized that the war supported by the Russian Orthodox Church is not sacred, but diabolical, as it brings suffering and death to people.
Epiphany noted that Patriarch Kirill of Moscow supports the invasion of Ukraine and promises Russian soldiers forgiveness for their sins in the event of death in battle. He also noted that the harmfulness of this ideology is recognized by Orthodox theologians in various countries, as well as at the level of the Conference of European Churches.
The head of the UGCC emphasized that the ROC has essentially become part of the state system of the Russian Federation and openly supports the policies of Vladimir Putin. According to him, if an opportunity arises to meet with Patriarch Kirill, he will testify about the truth regarding this ideology.
