Finland will donate 10 diesel locomotives to "Ukrzaliznytsia".

Finland will provide "Ukrzaliznytsia" with 10 diesel locomotives and related components free of charge. The agreement was signed by the Prime Ministers of Finland and Ukraine, Petteri Orpo and Serhiy Koritsky, in the presence of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. This step is a response to the significant losses suffered by "Ukrzaliznytsia" as a result of Russian attacks.

Finland has become the first country to donate locomotives to "Ukrzaliznytsia" without charge. A corresponding agreement on providing 10 Dv12 type diesel locomotives and their components was signed during the "Carpathian Eight" summit.

The agreement was signed by the Prime Minister of Finland, Petteri Orpo, and the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Serhiy Koritsky, in the presence of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Ukrzaliznytsia" currently has a critical need for additional locomotives, as nearly 600 locomotives have been damaged or destroyed since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. More than 300 of these are diesel locomotives. Restoring them requires significant funds and time, and in some cases, it is simply not possible. Therefore, quickly replenishing the locomotive fleet is extremely important.
