The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a draft law that introduces administrative liability for unauthorized entry onto military facilities. This was announced by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

The authors of the document propose to add a new Article 186⁹ to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. The fine amount can reach 51 thousand hryvnias.

The draft law also establishes a specific period – from the announcement of mobilization or the introduction of martial law until the end of that period.

Military facilities should include objects belonging to the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces, other components of the Armed Forces, and designated state bodies. These objects should be fenced off or have appropriate signage and be under the protection of military personnel, armed security, or guard services.

The Ministry of Defence stated that implementing accountability measures would strengthen the protection of military facilities, reduce the risk of disclosing information about their location and infrastructure, and enhance the safety of the civilian population.

The document has already been registered in the Verkhovna Rada. In order for it to come into effect, it must be approved by народні депутати (parliament members) and signed by the president.
