Lithuania extended temporary protection for Ukrainians until March 4 2028 year. According to the Lithuanian Department of Migration, starting from August 5 2026, some applicants will be required to prove that they have fulfilled their military obligations or were legally exempted from them; this applies to individuals who are subject to such obligations in Ukraine.
Proof can be a stamp in the passport obtained during a legal departure from Ukraine. If there is no such stamp, the applicant may provide an official document confirming the completion of military service or exemption from it – the agency cites the "Reserve+" application as an example. This requirement does not apply to applications for temporary protection submitted on August 5 2026 year, and it is not a general ban on protection for all Ukrainian men of conscription age.
Separately, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that October 5 marked the start of replacing digital permits for temporary residence. The new documents will be valid until March 2028; no additional requirements were introduced for replacing already issued permits, and the procedure remains free.
