The list of canceled items is not being made public for security reasons.
The Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Armed Forces have reviewed the list of weapons procurement due to the changing situation on the front lines. As a result of the cancellation and adjustment of outdated agreements, 15,6 billion hryvnias will be freed up, which will be used to purchase more urgent weapons for the front lines.
Part of the agreements will be terminated, and some planned contracts will be cancelled. The final list of purchases for review has already been approved by the General Staff and passed on to the Defense Procurement Agency. The list of cancelled items will not be made public for security reasons.
Deputy Minister of Defense, Mstyslav Banik, noted that the effectiveness of using funds requires constant analysis of the military's needs, as the war is changing faster than some contracts are being fulfilled. Commander of the Logistics Forces, Colonel Yuriy Pogribny, emphasized that every UAH released from outdated contracts should reach the military as relevant equipment.
The Defense Procurement Agency assured that all manufacturers affected by the changes have been informed, and contract terminations will occur within the framework of the law. Previously, the government allocated 50 billion hryvnias from the reserve fund for payments to military personnel and their families in October.
