Pension Fund: Who is eligible for a subsidy on firewood and coal, and how to apply
The Pension Fund reminded that households with solid fuel heating, which do not use gas or electricity for heating, can receive a subsidy for solid fuel once a year. The amount is determined individually based on the family's total income, with exceptions for certain categories of beneficiaries. Assistance is not automatically granted – a statement and declaration are required.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine has explained the conditions for granting a subsidy for the purchase of solid fuel for fireplaces.
Households that heat their homes with a fireplace, do not have centralized heating, and do not use natural gas or electricity for heating can apply for assistance.
The subsidy is awarded once a year per heating season, upon individual application. The amount is determined individually for each household, taking into account the family's total income. For certain categories – participants in combat operations, persons with disabilities as a result of the war, members of families of deceased veterans of the war, and members of families of deceased Defenders of Ukraine – there are exceptions.
According to the State Social Insurance Fund (ПФУ), beneficiaries who are included in the Register of Persons Entitled to Benefits receive assistance for liquefied gas, solid, and liquid household fuels once a year per heating season, upon individual application.
The funds received can be used for liquefied gas, solid, and liquid household fuels. Obtaining this subsidy does not deprive the household of the opportunity to receive assistance for paying other utility services.
Assistance is not automatically granted: it is necessary to submit an application for the allocation of a housing subsidy and a declaration of income and expenses of the household. If necessary, additional documents may be requested to confirm the presence of household heating.
Applications can be submitted at the Pension Fund service center, through a local self-government body representative, by mail, or online via the PFU's e-services portal. When submitting the application, the citizen provides consent for the transfer and processing of personal data.
