The council has launched a competition to appoint members of the Audit Chamber.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has launched an independent competition for the positions of new members of the Audit Chamber. According to the chairman of the budget committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Rokslana Podlasoi, this decision is necessary to obtain financial assistance from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.

Currently, the State Audit Service is operating with a reduced staff: six of the 11 positions within the body remain vacant. The appointment of new members of the State Audit Service is a key structural requirement of the IMF, with a deadline of December 2026, and the creation of an expert advisory group is a condition for providing macro-financial assistance from the EU, with a deadline of August 2026.

The advisory group will include three international experts, proposed by the EU and the United Kingdom, who will have the right to vote preferentially during the selection of candidates. Applications from candidates for positions on the Accounting Chamber will be accepted for 30 days, starting one week after the vote in the Verkhovna Rada. The advisory group will conduct testing and interviews with candidates, after which it will recommend at least two candidates for each position to the parliament.

A candidate for the position must be a citizen of Ukraine aged from 30 years, who possesses Ukrainian and either English or French language skills, holds at least a master's degree, and has at least seven years of total work experience. The candidate must also have at least five years of experience in the field of state control (auditing), economics, finance, or law, as well as an impeccable business reputation.
