SBU: Russia is preparing an "Op-Sec" (psychological operation) regarding Oleksandriivka, with implementation planned for October – early November.
The SBU stated that Russia is preparing a disinformation campaign regarding the temporarily occupied village of Olešky in the Kherson region. According to counterintelligence, Russian military personnel were planning to prepare "compromising" interviews with local residents against the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Ukrainian leadership. The operation is planned for October – early November; the SBU advises not to trust enemy Telegram channels and to verify information.
According to operational data, the personnel of one of the Russian occupying units has the task of preparing a series of interviews, which the SBU refers to as "compromising." Residents of the temporarily occupied Oleksandrivka in the Kherson region will be involved in these interviews.
The plan was for local residents to report, allegedly, about continuous shelling and a blockade of the city by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They were also expected to criticize or discredit decisions made by the Ukrainian military and political leadership, offer praise to Russian military personnel, and send them thank-you notes.
The Security Service of Ukraine has reported that it has information about the intensification of Russian preparations for a series of information and psychological operations related to Oleksiyivka. This information was obtained by the security service as part of counterintelligence activities.
According to the SBU, this information and psychological operation is planned to be carried out by the Russian side in October – early November of this year.
According to the SBU, Russia is using information operations to influence Ukrainians and destabilize the situation in Ukraine. The security service emphasized that the aggressor is not succeeding on the battlefield, so it is trying to undermine the emotional and psychological state of Ukrainians and create instability within the country.
Therefore, the security services advise media and citizens in Ukraine not to believe "sensational" reports, to be wary of enemy and pro-Russian Telegram channels, to avoid spreading unverified information, and to rely on official sources.
Previously, drones delivered almost 400 packages to the temporarily occupied city — containing food, medicine, and children's items. During this operation, the crew of the "Perun" drone also evacuated six animals.
