The government, based on a proposal from the Ministry of Energy, has extended special obligations (СО) on the electricity market, meaning that the price for households will not change until at least April 30 2027. The basic rate is 4,32 UAH per kWh, and the reduced rate is 2,64 UAH for homes with electric heating and residences without gas or centralized heating. This decision was announced by the first vice-premier and Minister of Energy, Denys Shmyhal.

The government, based on a proposal from the Ministry of Energy, extended the special obligations (СО) on the electricity market for households. This means that the cost of electricity for residents will not change until at least April 30 2027 year.

The relevant decision was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Denys Shmyhal. According to him, this step remains an important part of supporting citizens during the full-scale war.

The same tariffs will continue to apply: a basic rate of 4,32 UAH per kWh for most households, a reduced rate of 2,64 UAH per kWh for homes with electric heating, as well as for housing without gasification or centralized heating.

The last increase in tariffs for residents occurred on June 1 2024 — at that time, the cost of electricity increased from 2,64 to 4,32 UAH per kWh. The Ministry of Energy explained this as a necessity to find funds for restoring energy facilities after mass Russian attacks. Since then, the government has several times extended the validity of the 4,32 UAH tariff, and the ministry has stated that raising tariffs for gas and electricity for residents during the war is not planned.
