According to "Ukrenergo," as of the morning of October 12, electricity consumption in Ukraine was 1,7% higher than on October 9. In several regions, including 06:00, power restrictions for industry and hourly outages of up to 1,5 hours are in effect until the end of the day. Electricity consumption in Ukraine as of morning October 12 was 1,7% higher than the previous working day – Friday, October 9. According to "Ukrenergo," the increase is due to a decrease in the volume of restrictions applied and the gloomy and rainy weather in certain regions, which reduced the efficiency of household solar power plants. The daily maximum consumption the previous evening exceeded the figure from last Sunday by 1,9%.
To avoid overloading equipment damaged by previous Russian attacks, in certain regions with 06 and 00, power restrictions for industry and hourly power outages of up to 1,5 for all consumer categories will be in effect until the end of the day. Due to new attacks on the energy infrastructure, power outages have been reported in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions as of morning; emergency and restoration work is ongoing in those areas where it is safe to do so.
The network infrastructure was also affected by the bad weather: heavy rain and strong winds caused a complete or partial power outage in approximately 63 settlements in the Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky, and Ternopil regions. Teams from the regional power grid are already restoring damaged power lines.
Energy providers are urging residents to conserve electricity and minimize the use of high-power appliances during peak hours, from 17:00 to 22:00. You can check the current schedule of power outages for your address on the official websites of the distribution system operators.
