The government is starting to optimize central executive bodies. This was announced by Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky. In the first phase of the reform, it is planned to eliminate over 4 thousand vacant positions.
The reduction in the number of top-level officials will be linked to the workload of each structure: the number of deputy ministers is planned to be reduced by approximately 20%, and the number of deputy heads of other central executive bodies will be reduced by almost 18%.
The final structure and number of employees will be determined by the government after a functional assessment of the state apparatus – a review of the functions of all bodies to ensure they align with the realities and priorities of the state. Changes will also affect education and personnel policies.
The Prime Minister stated that the goal of the reforms is a professional government capable of quickly and effectively carrying out assigned tasks. The reform will be coordinated by a newly established Council for State Administration, involving government officials, members of parliament, and experts.
