Ukraine has introduced automatic lifting of bank account freezes after debt payment via the "Diya" application. Debtors will no longer need to submit applications or personally contact a state or private bailiff.

After paying the debt through the "Diya" application or portal, the system will automatically retrieve the person's data from the Unified Register of Debtors. The bank will receive a notification of the payment on the same day, and it must lift the freeze from the account no later than the following day.

The new mechanism will apply to debts totaling up to 86,470 hryvnias. This amount includes not only the principal debt, but also fines, execution fees, and execution costs. Information about the innovation was published on the "Diya" portal.
