European Parliament supports the AGILE defense program, which includes Ukraine
The European Parliament has supported the new defense program AGILE, which will include Ukraine: 536 MEPs voted in favor. The launch is planned for the beginning of 2027 year, and Kyiv will not make contributions. The RAZOM mechanism should make certified AGILE weapons immediately available to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and purchases will be financed from the €60 billion EU credit.
The European Parliament voted in favor of a new defense program, AGILE, which will include Ukraine. The decision was supported by 536 MEPs.
AGILE is designed to help startups and growing companies develop, test, and launch new defense technologies more quickly. The program is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, and there are no planned contributions from Ukraine.
Within the framework of the program, a separate mechanism called RAZOM will be created: any weapon or technology funded under AGILE and certified by the European Commission will immediately become available to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The necessary purchases will be financed using funds from the EU loan of €60 billion.
It became known in July that Ukraine was being integrated into the program.
