President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained that the Taurus cruise missiles are necessary to destroy Russian launch sites that are daily attacking Ukrainian cities.
The head of state emphasized that, given the shortage of American anti-ballistic missiles for air defense, the only option is to destroy the enemy's launch sites from which Russia is shelling Ukraine. According to Zelensky, these are not civilian targets, not infrastructure, not energy facilities.
The President also noted that Ukraine is not only seeking to obtain these missiles, but also to test them in practice, which would be beneficial for both sides. He cited the example of the IRIS-T air defense system, which, thanks to real combat conditions in Ukraine, has become a world-class brand, significantly increasing its market value and ensuring Germany with orders for decades to come.
