Ministry of Health reminds about the importance of vaccination during wartime
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine emphasizes the need to resume vaccinations during wartime, when the risk of infection is increasing. Particular attention is being paid to vaccinations against diphtheria and tetanus, hepatitis B, as well as recommended vaccinations against hepatitis A, smallpox, pneumococcal, and meningococcal infections.
Due to the increased risk of infection during wartime, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine reminds everyone of the importance of timely vaccination.
In particular, the Ministry of Health emphasizes the need for booster vaccinations against diphtheria and tetanus every ten years after the age of 16. This vaccination is free according to the national vaccination schedule. Experts also advise discussing with a family doctor the possibility of vaccination against hepatitis B, as the risk of infection with this disease is increasing due to contact with the blood of injured people.
In addition, in the context of the war, recommended vaccinations are also relevant, which can be purchased at one's own expense or obtained through community programs. These include vaccines against hepatitis A, smallpox, pneumococcal, and meningococcal infections.
The Ministry of Health is urging Ukrainians to consult with their family doctors for advice and to plan necessary vaccinations, emphasizing that timely vaccination is a reliable defense against dangerous diseases.
